Czech collection of microorganisms
The Czech Collection of Microorganisms (CCM) was founded at the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University (FNS MU) in 1963 and currently operates as a specialized research and service unit of the Institute of Experimental Biology at FNS MU.
The collection’s main activities involve the deposit, preservation, and distribution of cultures of bacteria, archaea, filamentous fungi, yeasts, and bacteriophages intended for basic and applied research, industrial applications, biotechnology, and education. Many of these cultures serve as reference samples for clinical laboratories in both human and veterinary medicine.
