Introducing Matomo: view your website traffic statistics directly in Umbraco
All launched websites in Umbraco now use the Matomo traffic measurement tool. Find out how to view traffic statistics directly in Umbraco.
Matomo is a tool used for web traffic analysis. It allows you to get useful information about your website visitors, their behaviour, traffic sources and other relevant factors. Thanks to the information obtained, you can better understand the interactions of visitors on your website, evaluate marketing campaigns or use the data obtained to optimize your website.
View statistics via Matomo
To view statistics for your website, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Umbraco content management system.
- Go to the root node of the site.
- On the first tab "Site Management" you will find the "Matomo analytics" tile.
- Click on this tile and you will see the basic graphs.
- If you wish to get more detailed information, you can click through to the full Matomo interface.
Google Analytics option
As of July 1, Google will no longer support traffic measurement using the "Google Universal Analytics" version. If you are interested, you can still use Google Analytics measurements, but you need to create a new account for version 4. However, measuring via GA has some disadvantages.
