The Section of Animal Physiology and Immunology is part of the Department of Experimental Biology. We explore life from the cellular level to whole organisms, investigating how organisms function in health and disease.
Our research teams focus on cellular communication, tissue and organ development, immune responses, host–parasite interactions, and the neurobiology of behaviour. By bringing together diverse fields of biology, we can study the same processes across multiple levels of biological organization, gaining deeper insight into how living systems function.
