Authors instructions

Dear authors,

please read carefully the instructions about articles, template for poster & paper and publication ethics.

General guidelines

  • Format of article/poster – Use the PAPER TEMPLATE or POSTER TEMPLATE
  • Language - All papers/posters are to be written in English
  • Length of article – Recommended length 8 standard pages of A4 format + appendixes
  • We recommend to use the ISCOBEMM template to write your paper. Please follow the instructions and text styles of the template. The template is designed as ".docx" file (MS Word 2010 and newer) including the predefined text styles. Do not change the predefined styles, settings or borders in the template. The incorrect format could be the reason for rejecting the article. We highly recommend to write the article in our template from the beginning.
  • All papers are accepted through the ISCOBEMM website only https://iscobemm.eu . Please register and follow instructions leading the registration and uploading process.

Publication ethics - The following text sets out the standards which are applicable to all parties involved in the publication of articles in ISCOBEMM proceedings. This material is based on the general standards set out by the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE) and the methodological guide “Publishing Ethics Resource Kit” (PERK) as used by the Elsevier Company.

Responsibilities of the authors - Authors who wish to publish in ISCOBEMM proceedings must observe the following regulations:

Originality and plagiarism - Only original works, which have never been published before or sent to another journal for publication, are accepted for publication. The author guarantees that the information contained in the article for publication in ISCOBEMM proceeding has not been published before in any journal or publication and contains only accurate and authentic information. If an author makes use of another author’s work it must be properly cited. All sources used must be listed in the bibliography in accordance with the Harvard citation style (see instructions for authors). Illustrative material which is not the original work of the author and has been taken from another source must have a reference to the original source and the written agreement of the holder of the publishing copyright. Plagiarism or the use of false information, as with the publishing of one work in several publications, represents unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable.

Authorship of the article - Authorship should only apply to those who have significantly contributed to the creation of the submitted article and should be listed as authors or co-authors. Those who contributed to more minor aspects of the project (study, article) should be listed as contributors. It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that all of the co-authors named in the article have agreed upon the final version and have approved it for publication. The authors also have to ensure that the file containing the article, which is submitted to the journal’s content management system, from where it will be sent on to the review proceeding, does not contain the names and contact information of the authors, or any other information which will lead to their identification. All information containing the contact details and identification of the authors is stored separately in the content management system. The authors must also ensure the accuracy of all names and contact information given during the registration process and subsequent entering of publications into the content management system.

Conflict of interests - In their work the authors must cite any financial or other important conflicts of interest which could in any way affect the results or the interpretation of their article. All sources of financial support must be properly disclosed. If the author discovers any mistakes in his published work, it is his duty to immediately inform the journal’s editorial board and cooperate over the correction or withdrawal of the article.

Duties of the reviewers - Reviewers for the ISCOBEMM proceedings agree to adhere to the following regulations

Reviewer’s assessment - Each article submitted for publication to the ISCOBEMM proceeding undergoes a reciprocal, anonymous review procedure. On the basis of the review procedure the article is either accepted without changes and forwarded for publication or rejected.

Reviewer’s qualifications, conflict of interests - The person reviewing the article must be suitably qualified in order to objectively evaluate the issue in question. The reviewer must ensure that his evaluation of the article does not lead to a conflict of interest as regards the author’s research or the investors of the research. The reviewer has to be capable of supporting his opinion with suitable arguments. The reviewer is obliged to point out any relevant publications which are not listed in the bibliography.

Confidentiality - Any publications submitted to the review procedure are considered to be confidential and cannot be shown to or discussed with non-participating individuals. Any misuse of information from the review procedure is considered to be unethical and unacceptable.

Publication decisions - The editors have full responsibility for the acceptance of any articles and they also have the power to reject them. Only articles of which the editors are reasonably certain are accepted for publication. Editors cannot be in a conflict of interests with any articles which are accepted or rejected.
