MUNI DAY 2024
On Thursday, 16 May 2024, Masaryk University librarians joined the university-wide event MUNI DAY on the campus at Bohunice for the first time, now under the brand MUNI Lib. The aim of the event was to present libraries from a non-traditional point of view as a place providing not only information and education, but also entertainment, relaxation, modern technology and inspiration.
At a common stand in the campus corridor, attractions from the library collections were on display as educational tools and board games. Creative workshops were represented by a 3D printer, a button press kit and virtual reality headset. Attractive activities such as bookface photo corner, speeddating over a favourite book or weightlifting with Otto's dictionaries were prepared for visitors. There were also photos from previous editions of the Night with Andersen event for children and tips from librarians and celebrities on interesting literature. Last but not least, visitors could take a knowledge quiz about MUNI libraries.
The library station aroused interest among visitors and the participation in MUNI DAY was also positively evaluated by librarians and organizers.
