doc. Mgr. Tomáš Hoder, Ph.D.

group leader

e‑mail:

Dr. Hoder investigates ultra-fast phenomena in transient non-thermal plasmas using high sensitivity and high resolution electrical, optical or spectroscopic techniques. His focus is on fundamental breakdown processes, whether in gases or liquids. He studies the plasma physics and chemistry using non-steady-state collision-radiative and global electrical models. He gave invited talks on international conferences such as IWM 2017, ICPIG 2015 or meetings of European Science Foundation in 2015. He is active as a reviewer for IOP, AIP, IEEE and Springer plasma physics journals. ORCID page: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5346-6275

doc. Mgr. Pavel Dvořák, Ph.D.

e‑mail:

In the field of plasma physics I am active namely in laser-based plasma diagnostics, escpecially in (TA)LIF of radical species including measurements in suface discharges ignited at atmospheric pressure. The fluorescence studies contain the research of atomizers, where we have proven by means of TALIF that atomic hydrogen plays the key role in the decomposition of volatile hydrides. Further, I work with capacitively coupled discharges, where I study their ignition and nonlinear characteristics by both theoretical calculations and various diagnostic methods. Regarding other fields of science, I am interested in speleology and occasionally I am in touch with photochemistry and processes in ice.

doc. Mgr. Zdeněk Navrátil, Ph.D.

e‑mail:

Dr. Navrátil's professional interest is concerned with the development and application of advanced optical emission spectroscopy methods for plasma diagnostics, especially of atmospheric pressure discharges. The topics he has studied recently included electric field measurement in helium atmospheric pressure discharges or bremmstrahlung radiation in coplanar barrier discharge. He is the author of spectroscopy software Spectrum Analyzer and EBFFit. Related teaching Atomic and molecular spectroscopy.

 Dlouhodobě mimo výkon práce

Lucia Kuthanová (née Potočňáková) has a broad range of plasma science expertise, from plasma surface treatment with consequent chemical and morphological surface analysis, to plasma diagnostics of various discharges mainly by electrical and optical methods in spectrally, spatially and time-resolved manner. Recently she focuses on non-stationary phenomena in filamentary discharges, induced instabilities in plasmas and interactions on plasma-liquid interfaces. Mgr. Adam Obrusník, Ph.D.

e‑mail:

Mgr. Martina Mrkvičková, Ph.D.

e‑mail:

Martina Mrkvičková focuses on laser-based plasma diagnostics, namely on a detection of various reactive species in plasma by one or two-photon absorption laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) or a determination of electric field by electric field induced second harmonic generation (EFISH).

Pedro Arsénio Nunes Aleixo Viegas, PhD.

Pedro Viegas investigates the physics of low-temperature plasmas through numerical simulations, especially of discharges at atmospheric pressure. He has previously done research in Portugal, France and The Netherlands. He has focused mostly on dynamics of helium plasma jets, plasma-surface interactions, numerical methods to calculate vibrational distribution functions, kinetics in plasmas for CO2 conversion and contraction mechanisms in microwave discharges. He is currently expanding his research interests to discharges in liquid water and photoionization in streamers.

Nima Bolouki is active in the fields of plasma diagnostics and low-temperature plasmas. He has previously performed research at several universities in Japan and Taiwan. He investigated non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasmas, especially nanosecond pulse and streamer discharges, using laser Thomson scattering. He currently focuses on laser-based plasma diagnostics through laser scattering in various atmospheric plasma sources. Moreover, his research interests include optical and laser diagnostics in low-temperature plasmas. ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2126-6823
