Physics students of various specializations can travel abroad during their studies. You can travel with the Erasmus+ program and a few other special programs. Masaryk University has a Center for International Cooperation that deals with all the administrative side of studying abroad. It offers various foreign study stays, traineeships, research placements, or summer schools. Why do not hesitate and boldly travel for studies abroad? For Ph.D. students, the study period abroad is a requirement for a successful finish of their studies. Studying abroad is also the perfect opportunity to travel and see the world. Many facets of the ERASMUS+ program

ERASMUS+ offers various foreign study stays, traineeships, research placements, or summer schools. Masaryk university gives students monthly stipend from 480 to 600 euro, depending on the outgoing country. ERASMUS ID Masaryk univerzity code CZ BRNO05.

At each physics department is a person who is a coordinator of international mobility. At the Department of Physical Electronics, this function belongs to dr. Zdeněk Bonaventura. He comments our students stay followingly: "Our students travel mostly on traineeships. Students do not have to attend classes during their stay abroad. They can fully devote themselves to laboratory work and research."

Call for application to outgoing study program Erasmus+ in autumn 2023 and spring 2024

You can find all information about the Erasmus+ program on the webpage of the Center of International Cooperation (CZS MUNI). All participation conditions are listed here. One of the criteria for student application rating is study results. Applications must be accompanied by a motivation letter in English. It is possible to attach confirmation about foreign language education by various certifications.

Application to Erasmus+ outgoing program can be submitted from January 1st to March 3rd 2023 though the ISOIS system.

Taiwan Semiconductor Scholarship Program

This prestigious scholarship on one of the five chosen Taiwan universities is for students of Polish, Slovakia, Lithuania, and Czech nationalities. These students should study a field related to the semiconductor industry and nanotechnologies. During their stay, the students will familiarize themselves with the private sector environment, such as companies working on developing and manufacturing new microchips (e.g., Apple M2). A relatively high monthly stipend accompanies this program. Also, tuition fees and travel expenses to Taiwan and back are covered. Maximal length of stay for master's students is two years and for doctoral students is four years.
